“WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE COMING TO CAMP”

Registration is from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the first day of each camp.  Please go to the chapel to register.  No Pets (opening and closing days).  The first camper meeting begins at 5:10 p.m. Please plan to have your camper moved in and ready for that meeting.  If you will be arriving after 5:00 p.m. please call the camp office.

CLOSING DAY CHAPEL

Please join your camper at 9:00 a.m. for chapel before he/she leaves for home.  Campers leave for home after the closing day chapel, approximately 10:00 a.m.

REGISTRATION DAY

Please go directly to the chapel, where you will check in and receive your cabin assignment. You will turn in your Health Form to the camp nurse, deposit canteen money and turn in your offering card.

**Health forms must be completed, including parent signature and names of people camper may leave camp with.  Please notify camp if the person picking up your child is not listed on your health form.  Our checkout system requires that your child can only be signed out with a person you have designated.

**Swim tests will be available during registration (weather permitting).

NURSE’S REMINDER

**ALL MEDICATION, NON-PRESCRIPTION OR PRESCRIPTION, MUST BE BROUGHT TO CAMP IN THE ORGINAL CONTAINER AND LABELED WITH CAMPER’S NAME.

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP

Bible, pencil, notebook, sleeping bag, pillow, towels, personal items (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.), casual modest clothes (no short shirts, halter or tube tops, or spaghetti strap shirts), modest one piece swimsuit, jacket, sandals and tennis shoes, flash-light,  spending money for offering, canteen, camp store and crafts,(we will be making tye-dye shirts in the craft shop this summer, cost will be $7.00.  Sign up will be at registration.)

We recommend you mark clothing and personalized items. “Lost and Found” will be held for only 30 days.

WHAT NOT TO BRING

No Cell Phones, Skateboards, radio, IPODs, CD players, computers, PDAs, handheld electronic games, fireworks, weapons, illegal drugs, alcohol or tobacco products.  We reserve the right to search for these items if we have reason to believe they are present.

OFFERING CARD

At the end of each week, our office staff spends several hours figuring the refunds of camper canteen money, which is placed in an envelope and handed out on Saturday morning.  Many of the parents and campers graciously donate their remaining money to the offering on Saturday morning.  If you desire, you may fill out the enclosed offering card so that a portion of your camper’s canteen money or the “end of the week canteen refund” may be directed to the offering.  Please remind your camper if you choose this option so that they are aware of where the money has gone.  THANKS!

 CAMPER MAIL

Campers are given any mail received each day.  Care packages are always appreciated but not necessary.

Please address all camper mail as follows:

How to help your camper send letters home:

Pre-address and stamp envelopes with the correct postage.  Send along cards or stationery to write their letters.

CAMP PHONE

The camp office is open Monday thru Friday, (715)689-2411.  Questions may be addressed during these hours.  In the event of non-office hours, the answering machine will direct you on how to leave a message or get in contact with camp staff.   We encourage parents to refrain from calling or visiting their child during a week of camp. Campers do not make or receive phone calls while at camp.  In case of a homesick camper, parents will be contacted if that course of action would be beneficial for the camper

n  Camper’s attendance this summer provides Wood Lake Bible Camp the authorization to use photos and videos of you for promotional purposes.
