About Us > Employment Opportunities > Summer Staff Opportunities
Will I receive a salary? All summer staff will receive a salary which includes room and board.
Can I bring a vehicle? You are welcome to bring a vehicle to camp as there are plenty of parking spaces available. Your car can also be a good place for you to store some of your things while you are here as we do not have much extra storage space. If you’d like to car-pool to and from camp, please contact us, and we can try to help you arrange it.
What if I fly? We can provide transportation to and from Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport if you chose to fly. We would like have everyone fly in the day before their contracted date and will pick everyone up at once. Please contact us before you buy your ticket if you will need transportation from the airport to camp.
Will I get any time off? Staff will receive one 24 hour period off per week. Counselors will have minimal time off during the week while camp is in session. Non-counseling staff will receive daily time off relative to their position.
Will I have phone and email access? There is a phone available for your use on your time off in the program office. This number can be given to your friends and family if they need to get a message to you. The program office has one computer with internet access for staff use. We also have wireless access available if you wish to bring a laptop.
Are laundry facilities available? There are washers and dryers on camp that are available for you to use at no cost. All staff can sign up for a time slot during the week (after 5:00).
Will I be living in the same cabin/room for the whole summer? Non-Counseling staff will remain in the same cabin/room throughout the summer as is possible.
Will there be storage for my extra belongings? Due to lack of facilities, we cannot guarantee storage space. If you drive to camp, you can use your vehicle for personal storage.
What can I wear? Dress at Wood Lake Bible Camp is casual, for the most part. The Lord looks at the heart, but our guests often look at the outward appearance. We do believe that one's internal character is more important than one's external appearance, but we feel it is important to dress modestly and look presentable. Two-piece swimsuits are not allowed while camp is in session; men may not go "shirtless" except when swimming. Shoes must be worn at all times around camp. All other areas not mentioned should follow along with the rule of modesty and appropriateness.
How many and what ages of campers come to Wood Lake Bible Camp? Camp serves campers going into 2nd grade up through those who just graduated from high school. Camps are divided into age groups. We can have from 50-150 campers each week.
What activities are available to the campers? On-camp activities include zip line, high ropes course, archery, boats, fishing, arts and crafts, climbing wall, team building, basketball, volleyball, bouldering wall, soccer, field games, swimming and more. Available off-camp activities are horseback riding. (A few of the activities are only available to certain age groups.)
Where is Wood Lake Bible Camp located? We are located 90 minutes Northeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul and two hours Southwest of Superior, WI. We are near the St. Croix River about 10 miles from the Minnesota border.
What activities are available to staff on time off? The area has many things to offer for time off including state parks, shopping, movie theaters, canoeing, mountain biking, and more!
